The Exploratorium

Water, mud, real tools, loose parts, building and big ideas. ​

There are no instructions telling children what to make. They decide what happens next.

MAKE

The Makery

A place for children who love to create, construct and work with their hands.

​

Explore the Creative Studio, Tool Shed or get spectacularly messy in the Splatter Room.

​

60 minutes - 3+ yrs-  From $30

NOT YOUR TYPICAL KIDS' ACTIVITY

At The Yard, children encounter interesting materials, real tools and environments designed for experimentation. They might build something, test an idea, change their mind, get muddy and try again. The process matters more than the product.

REAL TOOLS

Children are capable of more than we sometimes give them credit for.

REAL MATERIALS

Wood, metal, water, clay, cardboard and everyday objects worth investigating. 

CHILD-LED

We set up the environment. Children decide what happens next.

FIRST TIME AT THE YARD?

Adults remain with their children.
