Home school Skill Pop-Ups
Extended making sessions for home schoolers who enjoy deep thinking and design.
Service Description
Homeschool Skill Pop-Ups are occasional, longer-format Makery sessions designed for children who enjoy spending extended time developing ideas, testing solutions, and refining their work. These sessions run as one-off experiences rather than weekly classes. Each pop-up has a clear skill focus and provides time for children to fully engage in the design process — from early ideas through to testing and improvement. Depending on the session, children may: • prototype using hands-on materials • work with real tools • explore specialised equipment such as 3D printing • reflect on what worked and what they would change The emphasis is always on thinking, process, and decision-making rather than speed or finished products. Homeschool Skill Pop-Ups suit children who: • enjoy working independently for longer periods • like problem-solving and design challenges • are curious about how ideas become real objects Groups are kept small to support depth, conversation, and careful facilitation. These sessions are offered a limited number of times each term and are released in advance for booking.
