Service Description

Step into the Candle Lab a creative workshop where children design and make their own cupcake candle, combining sensory materials, colour, texture and scent to create something uniquely theirs. This is not about following a strict set of instructions or producing identical results. Each child is invited to make choices, experiment with materials and design their candle in their own way. From colour combinations to decorative elements. During the session, children will: Design & Create a Cupcake Candle Pour and shape wax into a cupcake-style base Choose from a range of colours, scents and decorative elements Layer, swirl or mix colours to create their own design Add “toppings” and finishing touches to personalise their candle Children are supported throughout the process to work safely with materials while still having ownership over their design. Facilitators guide technique and safety, but the creative direction always belongs to the child. This workshop offers a balance of guided process and creative freedom ensuring children can successfully create a finished piece while still making meaningful choices along the way. We begin with a short introduction to materials and safety, then move into the making process step-by-step, allowing time for creativity and individualisation. The Candle Lab is ideal for children who: Enjoy hands-on creative activities Like designing and decorating Are drawn to sensory elements like colour, scent and texture Want to create something special to take home or gift What to expect: A 120-minute guided creative workshop Design and creation of one cupcake-style candle Choice of colours, scents and decorative finishes A take-home candle created entirely by the child Important information: Suitable for children aged 5+ Materials are handled with guidance to ensure safe use Children must be supervised by their accompanying adult Candles will need time to fully set before use (instructions provided) This is more than just making a candle — it’s about designing, creating and taking pride in something you’ve made yourself.
